Wireless Technologies for Non-Technical Personnel (TE39-3-0)

SynopsisWCDMA, 802.11, WiMAX, WPAN - just what does all this mean? For many who have worked long in the wireless communication industry, the discussion on wireless technologies may not be a big deal. However for the increasing many whose work in one way or another is related to the wireless industries, it is a confusing and complex subject.

This course is designed for those who want to have a foundation knowledge in wireless technologies, in a fun and easy way. The course will first cover the basic communication concepts, followed by introduction of the various wireless technologies and systems. The participants will then learn the various RF testing requirements, and the associated test systems. It will end with a view of the emerging technology trends and a workshop discussion on how they impact our business and everyday's life. With a broad appreciation of each underlying technology and application, the participants will be able to see how the pieces fit together. This view would hopefully equip the participant with foundation knowledge, interest and confidence for future in-depth acquisition of knowledge in specific area.
