    Inventing, Innovating and Patenting (TM123-35-0)

SynopsisInventing, innovating and patenting is a difficult process to begin, and initiate as a new inventor. Like walking, the first steps are some of the hardest. As an experienced inventor, there is also a desire to invent more efficiently, more productively.

This course will be provided by an engineer, not a patent lawyer, to provide the perspective, journey and transformation of an engineer to an inventor. This course will cover the aspects from the beginning on how to become an inventor, how to establish competence in inventing, how to develop an idea, how to invent patents, and how to patent inventions. Topics addressed include the how-to's in writing a patent, in establishing patent teams, and in establishing a personal or corporate strategy. The course will also address incubation of the idea, the patent writing process, best practices and the dos and don'ts in the preparation process.
